Where mothers and children step away from screens, routines and distractions to experience a week of slow living, nature, learning, nourishing food and meaningful connection.

It is a space where children learn through experience and exploration, while mothers get the rare opportunity to slow down, reconnect with themselves and spend unhurried time with their children.

Science & Making:

Hands-on experiments, engineering, electronics, aerodynamics and playful scientific discovery.

Body & Mind:

Yoga, pranayama, mindful walking, mindful eating, reflection, stories and traditional practices.

Art & Theatre:

Storytelling, acting, movement, creative expression, collaboration and performance.

Food & Nourishment:

Fresh, wholesome vegan meals enjoyed without screens or distractions.

Mother & Child Connection:

Unhurried time to talk, play, explore, learn and simply enjoy being together.

Veyilodu Vilayadu 26 was my second time attending the summer camp with my daughter. And, it was one place that connected us with food, body, people and our environment completely. What made it more beautiful was how mothers and children came together to learn, experience and share.

For me personally, Veyilodu vilayadu 2025 was when the seed was sown - I turned into an educator in Personal Finance. I was really humbled to know that the community shared about my workshops in the other communities and groups. That is how beautiful the connections are made in the short few days at Veyilodu Vilayadu.

Veyilodu Vilayadu—the title itself was inviting. I had been wanting to enrol for it for a few years, and this year, I was finally able to experience the five-day camp in Pollachi with my daughter.

If you ask me what was magical about it, I don't think I can point to just one thing.

It was in the stories I heard and the people I met. Some of them I had only known through Akka's online sessions, and yet meeting them felt like meeting old friends. There is something beautiful that happens when people come together with openness—you begin to see a little of yourself in everyone. You realise that your joys, your struggles, and your questions are not so different from those of others. There is a quiet comfort in knowing that we are more alike than we imagine.

The children had all the space they needed—to run, to wander, to observe, to play, and sometimes to do absolutely nothing. And somewhere in watching them, I realised that I had received the very thing my heart had been craving as a mother—a few days with minimal instruction, very few to-dos, and the freedom to simply be.

The camp gently reminded me that doing nothing is also something. That wandering has its own purpose. That slowing down is enough.

Was it the people? The food? The space? The conversations? I still don't know. Perhaps it was all of it together.

If you are carrying questions—about parenting, childhood, yourself, or life—I have a feeling you will find what you are looking for. What I cherish most is that nothing is taught, prescribed, or handed to you. In the gentleness of the experience, your own answers quietly unfold from within.

For me, Veyilodu Vilayadu was less of a camp and more of a homecoming—to simplicity, to community, and to myself.

Veyilodu vilaiyadu is always our Happy place. Meeting families those who choose to live consciously and learning from each other was one of it's kind. A very special heartfelt thanks to Durgesh Nandhini and team for hosting this wonderful camp with so much care, intention, and warmth. Their thoughtful planning made every moment feel meaningful and seamless.

The vegan food was another highlight, lovingly prepared by Rose akka, our vegan chef, whose meals were not just delicious but also nourishing and made with so much love. We enjoyed wholesome, guilt-free food while also learning to understand our bodies and listen to what they truly need.

There was so much joy throughout the camp—fitness sessions specially for mothers, dance, games, laughter, and plenty of opportunities for moms and children to bond and have fun together.

What made it even more special were the personal sharing sessions among participants, where we opened up, listened, and connected deeply with one another. Those moments of vulnerability and support created a strong sense of community and emotional healing.

What made this camp special was that it wasn't just about activities. It was about being present, caring for our body, connecting with nature, celebrating motherhood, and creating beautiful memories with our children.

We came back not just refreshed, but with a lighter heart, a happier mind, and memories that we will cherish for a long time.

Veyilodu Vilaiyadu is a beautiful space for children to explore and learn. The slowness and freedom to explore their interest and indulge in the most wholesome food has been our favourite part. My daughter has been attending for the past 3 years and every year she is excited to come back and every year we take some wonderful habit back home. We meet some of the most wonderful and soulful people here every year and form some beautiful connections for life.! Its a sisterhood I have always craved for and I am grateful to experience it every year.
